Teaching vs coaching; a difference in nature

In most cases one wouldn’t bat an eyelid if you would use the word teaching instead of coaching and vice versa. Teaching is imparting knowledge , it’s a professional expertise . The line between a teacher and a coach is drawn at their relationship with the student . Coaching is a cycle; the job doesn’t end after instruction. Coaches begin by teaching students, they then observe how and what the students learn and then re-evaluate the teaching approach to provide a better understanding.
Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximize their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.
Put simply, coaching is a process that aims to improve performance and focuses on the ‘here and now’ rather
than waiting till the final goal . Coaches need to identify the stage at which an individual is at , and then , to use the right sort of technique to help them move to the next stage. After all, it’s difficult to try to improve any skill if you don’t know that you  lack it.
And a coach has that very knack of identifying the missing link . It’s then easy to get a direction and fill in the blank with that correct piece and then move to the next level.
